Breaking through the bottlenecks of cross-border medical data verification with a system based on the "Qianhai Trusted Data Space", and with integration of blockchain and LEI technology.

(Shenzhen, July 10) – A key agreement aimed at building a cross-border healthcare trust system was signed at the opening ceremony of the Global Health Industry Summit Forum held today at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center. Five parties including National (Shenzhen·Qianhai) New Internet Exchange Center, Certizen Technology, the "YYT" platform under the Greater Bay Area Medical Professional Development Association, the " Global Legal Services" platform under the Shenzhen Qianhai Belt and Road Legal Service Federation, and the Hong Kong medical organization "WeMedtech" jointly signed the "Letter of Intent for Credible Cross-border Verification of Medical Documents". Dr. Ko Wing-man, Member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Honorary President of the Greater Bay Area Medical Professional Development Association, and Mr. Yuan Fuyong, Deputy Director of Shenzhen Qianhai Administration, and other leading guests witnessed the event.

Establish a two-way flow mechanism to solve cross-border medical pain points

In his speech, Dr. Ko Wing-man, Member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Honorary President of the Greater Bay Area Medical Professional Development Association, emphasized that promoting cross-border medical data flow in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is the core of achieving medical integration. He pointed out that the main goal is to establish a two-way flow mechanism for patients, medical data and payment and settlement to meet the needs of Hong Kong citizens going to the Mainland and Mainland residents seeking medical treatment in Hong Kong. The key is to remove barriers associated with identity authentication, medical record exchange, payment and settlement, and create a seamless cross-border healthcare system.

Technology empowerment: Blockchain + LEI to build a trusted verification channel

Relying on the "Qianhai Trusted Data Space" and the "Shenzhen-Hong Kong Cross-border Data Verification Platform", the system innovatively integrates blockchain encryption technology and the Global Legal Entity Identifier (LEI). In her opening remarks, Ms. Chan Yuen Wah, Chairperson of the Hong Kong PKI Forum, said that the framework can effectively solve the three core problems of traceable data authenticity, privacy protection and mutual legal recognition in cross-border medical documents verification. By connecting with the "YYT" platform, the system can issue legally effective and tamper-proof digital medical documents for relevant institutions in the Mainland and Hong Kong for cross-border trusted verification.

The system supports insurance companies to establish automatic verification channels for claim documents, which will significantly improve the efficiency of cross-border medical treatment. At the same time, through the "Global Legal Services" platform, more than 2,000 Chinese-speaking lawyers in more than 100 countries and regions around the world provide solid cross-border medical legal support for Mainland and Hong Kong residents and overseas Chinese.

Meeting the needs of cross-border medical care in the digital era

Mr. Eric Siu, Founding President of the Greater Bay Area Medical Professional Development Association, stated that in the face of social digitalization and the rapid growth of cross-border medical needs of the public, the association will make every effort to promote the implementation of this safe, stable and compliant cross-border trusted authentication mechanism for medical documents to effectively serve the general public.

The "Smart Healthcare: The New Pattern of Global Health Industry Summit Forum" was held at the same time and same site, inviting representatives of numerous professional medical institutions and industry experts from Shenzhen and Hong Kong to share in-depth views on the theme of "AI and Technology-driven Health Future".
