【2025.03.16】Certizen Technology Collaborates with International Partners to Promote Trusted Cross-Border Data Flow

Zurich, Switzerland – Certizen Technology Limited recently signed a Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation with Global Legal Services and Switzerland-based nonprofit Verifiable.Trade Foundation in Zurich. The signing ceremony was attended by Ms. Wang Shouqun (left), Secretary-General of the Qianhai Belt and Road Legal Services Federation and representative of Global Legal Services; Mr. Stephan Wolf (middle), Chairman of the Board of Verifiable.Trade Foundation; and Ms. Eva Chan (right), Founder and CEO of Certizen Technology. This partnership marks a significant milestone in fostering trusted cross-border data flow between Hong Kong, Mainland China, and global markets.

The collaboration aligns with the directives of Mr. Xia Baolong, Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, during his inspection of the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Cooperation Zone in February 2025. Leveraging the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Cross-Border Data Verification Platform as a technological foundation, the three parties will utilize distributed blockchain, artificial intelligence, and other cutting-edge technologies, alongside internationally standardized digital identity authentication frameworks, to facilitate secure and compliant cross-border data exchange. Additionally, a synchronized legal coordination mechanism will be established to support businesses in expanding into Belt and Road Initiative markets while accelerating the development of a “dual-circulation” economic model that integrates domestic and international markets.

Global Legal Services, an association under the Qianhai Belt and Road Legal Services Federation, aggregates resources from over 2,000 Mandarin-speaking lawyers across 100+ countries, offering a comprehensive digital legal service platform. In this collaboration, it will leverage its legal expertise to help formulate cross-border data governance mechanisms, ensuring regulatory compliance for enterprises operating in Belt and Road Initiatives regions.

Verifiable.Trade Foundation, a Swiss nonprofit founded by global trade and technology experts, specializes in developing open-source, universal protocols for verifiable data exchange. Its innovations focus on enhancing trust and secure data flows in international trade, aligning with UN/CEFACT standards for trade data elements and cross-border data sovereignty classification. The foundation will contribute its technical proficiency to establish an efficient, secure, and transparent data circulation framework, setting a benchmark for global data exchange solutions.

As one of the Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) Validation Agents authorized by the Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF), Certizen Technology brings expertise in public key infrastructure (PKI), cloud solutions, and digital signatures to the table. The company has been actively involved in the digital transformation of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. In this partnership, Certizen will drive the internationalization of cross-border data frameworks by aligning technical and legal standards, providing enterprises with reliable cross-border data services.

The collaboration will adopt a "virtual engagement, physical activities" approach, facilitating dialogue through forums, workshops, training programs, and field visits. By pooling resources in funding, technology, and talent, the three parties aim to develop model projects that advance trusted data circulation, positioning China as a leader in the global digital economy.
